The end of an era. Effective Wednesday, June 15, 2022, Microsoft will officially retire the Internet Explorer browser making the application no longer operable.

What does this mean for you?
If you try to open the Internet Explorer application, you will be directed to Microsoft’s newer browser, Microsoft Edge.

What is Microsoft Edge?
Microsoft Edge is a browser application that was released back in 2015. Microsoft has been slowly phasing out Internet Explorer in exchange for Edge. “Not only is Microsoft Edge a faster, more secure and more modern browsing experience than Internet Explorer, but it is also able to address a key concern: compatibility for older, legacy websites and applications,” Microsoft released in a statement.

What do I need to do?
There is nothing that you need to do besides changing over to a different application to access the internet. In addition to Microsoft Edge, Eder Casella Technology also recommends Google Chrome as an internet browser option due to the security features built into the browser.
